Pride of Kathleen Band Information

Mr. Hinton and the members of the Pride of Kathleen band program are thrilled you will be joining us, and cannot wait to get to know you as we work and grow together to make great music!

As a member of the Kathleen High School band program, you will be participating in the Pride of Kathleen Marching Band as well.  This exciting experience will add an amazing spin to your high school experience that most students never get to try.  The work can be challenging, but students will tell you the effort is fun and rewarding as well.

Here are some things you need to know as you prepare to enter the band program at KHS next year:

To kick off the year on the right foot, marching band rehearsals begin before the school year begins.  Attendance at these rehearsals is mandatory – for the band program to be successful, we need all students to ALWAYS be present.  If a student misses these band camp rehearsals, they may lose their spot in the half-time show and be considered an “alternate,” which would involve still participating in all rehearsals and attending all performances but sharing a spot on the field with a student, and thus not performing as often.

Please dress in school appropriate, cool clothing (T-SHIRTS, NOT TANK TOPS OR SPAGHETTI STRAPS,) eat a good breakfast, and bring water to drink during rehearsal!  We will be in the sun!  We will also provide water for you to refill your bottles.

The dates and times for band camp are as follows:
